This is a MUST Have Item for the Weber Q August 11, 2006 Morris Booker (Smyrna, TN) 42 out of 43 found this review helpful
I got this stand today for my Weber Q 200.
It's not the stoutest thing you could imagine but it is most sufficient for the job required. Anything more would just get heavier.
Also, the engineering design itself is really quite convenient once you study how to best use it. While it came completely assembled it does have a learning curve.
I spent about thirty minutes trying different approaches to raising and lowering the setup until finally it became a very simple task. Those complaining about not being able to raise the stand w/o taking the grill off are wrong and need to practice a bit more until they discover the trick to it. I can set this up or break it down in about 30 seconds.
I did chose to make one change however. I think someone else mentioned doing the same.
It has a long velcro strap for holding the cart in it's folded position. I instead use the strap to tie down the grill lid to the front of the cart. This makes it one integral unit so that I can raise or lower the whole grill without it becoming detached from the cart.
When upright, make certain to "completely" lock in the wire support to the wheel axle. It not only snaps "over" the axle but also snaps on the "underside" as well.
Steps to how I raise and lower the grill while on the cart.
1. Strap the grill handle to the front of the cart with the velcro strap. IMPORTANT!
2. Release the wire shelf at the bottom from the wheel axle.
3. Lift the wire shelf with your right hand while holding the left side of the grill with your left hand.
4. Pick up on the left side of the grill to take the weight off the leftside legs and at the same time pull up on the wire shelf in your right hand. (This folds the left side legs under the grill.)
5. Put your right foot in front of one of the wheels to keep them from rolling and lean the whole setup over the right side legs while at the same time lowering the unit to the ground and off you go!
VERY SIMPLE TO DO! This is all done in one flowing motion actually and it takes about 15 seconds. But DO NOT forget step one, attaching the grill to the cart with the velcro strap.
To raise simply do the reverse. Start by leaning the grill on its left side and pulling out the wire grill (if you tucked it under). Pull the wheels out to the right. Hold the wire grill in your right hand and pick the grills left side up with your left hand. Push the wire down and the left legs over and snap the wire in the axle. EASY!
It works great like this and I am VERY glad I purchased the cart. I can't imagine being without it!
OH! And does this grill ever do a fine job cooking! It is terrific!
I am very pleased with my setup and have no doubt it will be well worth the investment. I'm sure you will be as well.
This is a MUST for the Q/Baby Q owners!!!! April 22, 2004 Emad Y. Allaho (Kuwait) 32 out of 33 found this review helpful
If you have invested in a Q or Baby Q grill, then there is absolutely NO point of NOT buying this cart. I have tried grilling without it (putting the Q on the floor), it was not fun. Besides, it is great to tow the Q with you if you have to walk to your grilling place. Get it, you won't be sorry that you did.
It's More Than Just A Cart... July 2, 2004 26 out of 27 found this review helpful
On the surface this looks like any ole cart that you would set your grill on. You may be asking yourself, self, why would I spend $40 on a grill cart when I can just set my grill on top of my folding table? Well here's why. This cart will fit your grill like a glove. Your grill will sit atop this sturdy cart like man on top of his mountain. I also use this cart to hold my big external propane tank (which I have connected to the grill using the optional hose attachment) and a little six pack cooler. This cart also offers you a place to hang your tools. It also folds down into a nice little package complete with velcro for ensuring that it stays folded. All these reasons prove why this is more than just a cart, it is a grilling podium.
Very good for what it is! October 9, 2005 Kenneth R. Shaw (San Francisco) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
We have our Baby-Q on it and the 25lb tank below. Sure, a little wobbly when using the wire brush, so hold the grill with the other hand. It folds down easily, but we keep it set up on our deck and my back no linger hurts bending down to grill!
This cart works great! December 30, 2006 Tommyr (Poughkeepsie, NY USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I just got the Weber rolling cart. It comes pre-assembled. All you have to do is unfold it and set your Q on it! It is NOT hard to unfold and set up at all, I did it in less than 2 minutes, not sure why some people have trouble with that. The cart is stable with my Q 220 sitting on it and puts the grill at the perfect grilling height for me (I'm 5' 9"). It is certainly plenty stable enough for grilling. Some people have complained that you have to hold the handle while scubbing the grate, I don't find this a problem. The warnings DO clearly state NOT to try lower the cart with the grill attached. This seems like a no brainer to me as the grill DOES weight about 35 pounds after all. It also states NOT to put a propane cylinder on the wire rack. It's obvious to me that the wire rack isn't designed to hold heavy objects. Read the warnings and instructions folks! This cart is perfect for the Q series grills. I'm totally happy with mine! Get one!
